"Bank Holiday weekend" and it's been raining on and off for the past week!! Not at all like August should be. So much rain, that the grass is waterlogged. This doesn't stop our girls from playing in the garden and chasing the birds, up the Yew Trees.
Here are more photo's of Elke at 7 weeks pregnant. I can't wait for the puppies to arrive safely :0)

Today is the 8th Birthday of the 'N' litter and my sweetest Kiri. She is soon to become a Grandmother with the birth of Elke's puppies in September. Kiri is the mother of the 'Q R & S' litters. Although her underline has dropped, after 3 large litters, she is still really beautiful as you can see in the photo.
I would love to have updated news from the families of her siblings, with photo's of their dogs. Here, Kiri is in the woodland garden with her 2 daughters, 6 week pregnant Elke and youngest daughter, Liesle. I was so pleased the sun was shining for these birthday photo's. :0)

8 year old Scarlett has been here for a holiday, during the long school break. Apart from enjoying the company of our dogs, whilst out in the woods, with plenty of trees to climb, she also accompanied me to the Vet's to confirm that our lovely girl Elke is in whelp. Scarlett had never seen a 'scan' before, and was fascinated to see the little ' black blobs' that are the puppies in uterus. At 38 days, the puppies have passed the embryonic stage and have entered the foetal stage - the brain, spinal cord, limbs, eyes, face and head, are all now developing. Male and Female sexual characteristics show and the eyelids close. A lot more development has to occur before the puppies are ready to be born. The next 3- and- a- half weeks is an important time for mother and babies.
I will keep posting news of Elke's pregnancy regularly :0)

My son Jeremy spent a few days holiday here with us and we all went to Snettisham Beach for the day. The object of the outing was for Klara to teach her granddaughter Liesle, to swim for pleasure - just as she had taught her other granddaughter, Elke, to swim last year:0) As you can see, the lesson went well and both girls had a wonderful time at the seaside. Klara is amazing, we can rely on her to show the youngsters how to retrieve and enjoy the water, her enthusiasm always works. |

Following the East of England Championship Show at Peterborough, where Liesle was 2nd in Yearling Bitch and Elke 4th in Limit Bitch - I drove straight to Newcastle for the mating of Elke to Alfie. My journey was successful and we hope for puppies from this union on September 11th - ready for homing by the beginning of November 2010.
I am being very positive about this litter and have put the past tragedy behind me. Elke is a strong and healthy bitch with excellent bone, a gorgeous head and silver grey coat. Information and up-dates will be posted on this page.

Both our young Bitches, Liesle & Elke, are in season and we plan to repeat the mating of Elke to Alfie (Sh.Ch. Mabanika Sandown). As soon as I have more news, it will be published here. Alfie has continued his successful show career, apart from winning the Dog C.C. at 'Cruft's this year, he also won the Dog C.C. at Border Union and Blackpool Championship Shows. This takes him into double figures with 'tickets' now!! :0) Elke has recovered fully from the loss of her litter and we now look forward to the future. |

Mid-summer's day! Let's hope we get more sunny weather! Lyn sends photo's of Moon, who will be 7 years old in September. Now back in UK after living in Spain since she was a puppy - she looks so like her mother, our dear old Klara. Same silver coat, strong bones and head shape. Lyn is looking forward to having another 'Hollieseast' puppy as a companion and new playmate for her special girl :0) We're keeping our fingers crossed for a litter from Elke, later this year. |

Elke is 3 years old today - Here's the latest photo of her in our woodland garden. We sang 'Happy Birthday' and she had a special meal of Roast Chicken with vegetables. Happily, she has fully recovered from the surgery, following the loss of her puppies. We are hoping to breed her again this year. At 3 years of age, she is now a fully mature Weimaraner :0) |

The date of the annual 'Jackson Family' BBQ and re-union - held this year at my brothers home in Norwich. We numbered 55 in total, made up of my siblings, their husbands & wife, children, grandchildren and cousins. A truly lovely day, the weather was kind to us this year!! My son Jeremy is extreme left - Keith back row (5th from left) my daughter Catherine (3rd from right) standing and finally, me (6th from left) centre. |

Had to post this photo of this special tree in full blossom. When Cherry (Hollieseast Dolly Delectus 1980-1992) died, Keith and I planted a Japanese flowering Cherry over her grave. We were living near Cirencester, Gloucestershire, at the time and the tree was a memorial to this lovely dog, who was Keith's introduction to the breed. When we knew we would be moving to Norfolk, a cutting was taken and potted up. The pot was changed annually with the growth of the cutting, until it was big enough to be planted out in our current garden. Each year, when I see the blossom, it gives me the chance to say 'thank you' to a special soul mate of mine. |

Not much news right now - apart from the fact that Keith is also now a Parish Councillor - as well as me!! Not as exciting as the new Government we now have, but we both hope, in our own way, to serve our local community and help make a difference within our Village.
Had to post this photo of our girls enjoying a little sunshine - it doesn't last long - but when it's here, they love it!! Also these lovely birthday photo's of Klara - who is now 11 years old. Her actual Birthday was on March 26th.

Iveta sends photo's of Sam training on live game - on point and stalking. She says his field work is excellent and he's a 'natural'. Well, Hollieseast bred dogs are truly dual purpose Weimaraners:0) Later, after work comes the reward of play - splashing about in the shallows with 'baby' Lilly, who at 5 months of age, is enjoying the experience. At home, all 3 dogs look superb on the leather sofa - what a lovely picture :0) |

Some happy news at last!! At the "Internationale Rassehunde - Austellung"(Championship Show) in Dresden, Germany - JCh. Hollieseast Silver Saracen (Sam) won V1 VDH CAC Res.CACIB and then went on to be handled by Iveta's young daughter Kristyna to 2nd place in the 'Junior Handling Competition'. Thank you for this cheering news Iveta :-) Lovely photo of Sam on the right handled by Iveta and on the podium with Kristyna.
Also on the same day, his litter sister Liesle was placed 3rd in Yearling Bitch at the "North of England Weimaraner Society" Championship Show. Photo by Jean Byrne (thank you Jean!)

Today, Multi-Champion Hollieseast Perlenkette (Kenzie) died in tragic circumstances - she was only 4 years old and was found drowned in the garden pond at home in the Czech Republic. How the tragedy came about, will never be known, as her owner Simona, was not at home at the time, so the circumstances of Kenzie's death are not clear. The weather was still very cold and although the snow had melted, there was ice on the pond and no safety net covering. Kenzie's death has come as a terrible shock to me and I feel totally bereft with her loss, it is devastating. A Memorial to this young and beautiful bitch, is on the 'Tribute' section of 'Past Memories' page. |

Iveta sends these great photo's of Sam (Jnr. Ch. Hollieseast Silver Saracen) from the Czech Republic, where they are training for the 'Spring Hunting Tests'. I remember watching the Autumn tests there a few years ago. The dogs have to carry the fox for some considerable distance - clear a dug out trench - then drop & leave the fox, within a designated area. The working ability of the Weimaraner is most important in that country. |

These photo's of Elke's mate - Sh.Ch. Mabanika Sandown (Alfie), were taken by Veronika from the ringside, at Cruft's last Sunday. Alfie not only won the 'Open Dog' class, but went on to win the DOG CC. Competing against at least 10 other Champions. Alfie, handled as always by his owner Mason Thorne, took the top award. This brings his current total of CC's to 8 - 'way to go Alfie' - we knew you could do it! There are many well known dogs with their owners/ handlers in the 'line-up' picture and Alfie is 2nd from right. |

Elke is making a good recovery, so far. Walks are only on the lead as it's early days, no free running as yet. Tomorrow morning we go back to the Vet's for a check-up. Here are my two lovely young girls, Liesle and Elke, snuggled up together on their big dog bed. Elke looks somewhat 'two-tone', as she had to be extensively shaved underneath, also up above her teats, for surgery. It's also possible to see where the drip went into her left foreleg.
The 'rump' in the background is their mother Kiri .
|
|
Who's that coming?
It was Klara, who came to join them on the bed. |

| 12th March 2010 - A tragic Day |
|
One always hopes to deliver good news on this page - but today the news is so sad, I can hardly bear to write it. Today my darling Elke lost her litter of 11 puppies. None could be saved as they were 12 days premature. Nature can be so cruel. I should have been at 'Cruft's this weekend with Liesle, but Elke is now my priority and I must concentrate on caring for her, until she's fit and well again. |

Today at the Vet's - Elke had another scan to see if we could count the puppies. There were too many to count accurately, but it looks like it will be 8 or so. I saw their little hearts beating (scan on left) and could also see calcification of their bones (scan on right). Elke was such a good girl and sat very still during the examination. This latest photo is taken at lunchtime today, when she was enjoying fresh cooked chicken with rice. She's now having 4 meals a day to keep up with the growing foetus'. |

Today I took Elke to the Vet's for a scan - I really needed to know if she was expecting puppies, after having waited such a long time for her to become a mother.
Eureka !!! The sonograph showed multiple embryos- only approx. 1 inch in diameter at age 28 days :0) Dear little babies - they appear as black 'blobs' in these two photo's. The next 5 weeks will seem to go slowly. But I will keep posting news and photo's to keep everyone informed. This photo of our lovely mother-to-be Elke - was taken last summer. |

Another BOB win for our Liesle! Today at the Isle of Ely Open Show, she won both her classes and went on to win BOB under judge Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale). This photo of me, Liesle and the judge was taken by Paul Osbourne, whose wife Maureen was judging Springer Spaniels that day. |

Spent today with family. Meeting up at a country park and walking around the lakes with our dear 'granny dog' Klara, and grandchildren Noah & Niamh. It was cold but bright and sunny. If we are fed up with the snow - look at this from the Czech Republic, where it really does snow in the winter! Here's Simona with her Sirius Nova dogs - 2 of whom I recognise. Kenzie (Multi-Champion Hollieseast Perlenkette) on far right. Drake (Multi-Champion Sireva Drake) 2nd from right. The other dogs I have seen when visiting Simona, but cannot name them in order! Kenzie is now confirmed in whelp and will hopefully produce the very first litter of Ai Weimaraner puppies in the Czech Rep. This is a very special event and extremely exciting news for the Sirius Nova Kennel. The sire of the litter is a famous Show and Field winning Dog from the U.S.A. |

So, now we have returned from our trip to Northumberland and a visit to the chosen sire for the next litter of Hollieseast puppies. As Elke's registered name translates to - "A little Romance" - that is what she had with a fine "Geordie Lad" - his name is Alfie or - to give him his correct title; Sh.Ch. Mabanika Sandown J.W. ShCm. Alfie lives north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and has numerous awards to his credit including - 7CC's - (4 with BOB) - 12 RCC's - Weimaraner of the Year 2006 at just 2 years of age. Also, Best-in-show at the W.C.G.B. Championship show 2009. The puppies are due March 23rd and would be ready for homing at the end of May 2010. As soon as pregnancy is confirmed, I willl contact all reservations for confirmation of bookings. Watch the newspage for photo's and information about Sire and Dam. Awaiting photo's of Alfie, meanwhile, one of Elke at the W.A.Championship show 2009.

Following on with the good news that our lovely girl Elke is now in season, this posting is to let you know, we shall be away from home for the next 5 days. More news and photo's of the chosen sire, when we arrive back home :0) Keith will stay at home to care for the other girls.

At last our Elke is in season! Hooray, what a wait she gave us! So, will be mated very soon - watch this space! Also, her little sister Liesle won the 'Junior Bitch' class at the first Championship show of 2010 - Boston & District Canine Society - thereby qualifying for Cruft's 2011!
Liesle's brother Sam, had a fantastic win at the National Dog Show Olomouc, Croatia - where he won the CAJC - Junior BOB - and then Junior BIG!! Congratulations to Iveta and Sam on this wonderful achievement. Here he is with medal and trophy at home in the Czech Republic. What a handsome boy :0)

We've been to 2 Open Shows since Christmas with both our youngsters. Liesle won both her classes ('Junior' and 'Graduate') at Luton Canine Association Premier Open Show and Elke was 3rd in 'Open' with 11 entries in class. In the challenge, Liesle was awarded RBOB to the BOB 'Open Class Winner, Sharnphilly Apprasil. The judge was Elaine Cannon (Highforce).
These photo's of Elke (movement) and Liesle (stacked) were taken from the ringside by Tal Ben-Yosef Sidi visiting from Israel. Tal and her husband Ron, had come to see UK Weimaraner's at the show.

The snow's back again in Norfolk! Not as much as mid-December, but enough to make these photo's of our dogs, quite picturesque. They followed me to the front garden, where I put birdseed and water out for our garden visitors. Liesle decided to have a quick snack before they got to it!! Later, she and Elke enjoyed a game of 'tug' with the Kong, which we found frozen to the ground. Klara and Kiri are far happier getting a bit of winter sun on their backs!!

| 25th December 2009 - "Happy Christmas" |
|
This year, I didn't even get around to sending my usual 'e-cards' to all my lovely puppy buyers and owners of 'Hollieseast' dogs. It has been such a busy time and to top it all, I've now developed a really awful cold - let's hope it doesn't last as long as the 'Flu' I had last winter!!
Here are our dogs, patiently waiting to see what's in their Christmas stocking! In order of sitting, it's Klara, Liesle, Kiri and Elke (nearest to my knees). I hope to have more photo's to show over the holiday. |

Here are photo's taken of our girls enjoying the snowy garden - except for dear Klara, who likes to wear her coat to keep warm, when she's outside. Elke and Liesle show just how well they can look, when standing quite naturally - no show poses needed if the dog is properly constructed!! Top 2 photo's are of Liesle and below are 2 of Elke. |

Iveta sends wonderful news of a fantastic win at the Croatia National Show in Zagreb, where Sam (Hollieseast Silver Saracen) won his class - was awarded 'Excellent 1' and CAJC with BOB. This makes him a Junior Champion! Well done and many congratulations! We are so happy for you and proud of Sam . Other good news is that his hip score is 0/0 and elbow score 0/0 too - total scores don't come better than that! This bodes well for future breeding plans, with Sam at the "River Catchment Kennels" in the Czech Republic. |

A long interval since the last posting, mostly due to the fact that I've been concentrating on gaining as much information as available on the internet - about the B.A.R.F. diet (Biological Appropriate Raw Food). Having thought long and hard about this natural feeding method for dogs - I am now a staunch advocate for this and any future litters will be reared in this way. Our girls are now enjoying their raw chicken, lamb, beef, fresh vegetables and fruit daily. I'm convinced, after all I have read, that they will benefit in living longer, healthier lives. These are up-to-date photo's taken in the Autumn sunshine in the woodland garden, here at home.

2 shows this weekend. On Saturday Liesle won both her classes and BOB at 'Kensington Canine Society' - it was a hollow victory as she stood alone - the only entrant. Sunday was the same at the 'Weimaraner Association' with most classes having 4 or 5 entries, except the 'Junior Bitch' class, where again, she stood alone. However, this time, all class winner's received a large bag of 'Royal Canin' Dog Food, which made it very worthwhile! |

Horrible wasted journey to 'Midland Counties' Championship show at the County Showground in Stafford. After a frustrating drive with so many detours and roadworks, arrived late, just as 'Junior bitch class' was already in the showring. Borrowed a lead from Julie and rushed in. Shouldn't have bothered - Liesle was placed 4th out of 4 in the class! The judge said she was favouring her left hind leg!! Oh well! Another one I will not be entering under again!
However, the photo from her last big win as a puppy at Hitchin & District Canine Society - the day of her 1st birthday :0) BIS Judge; Ted Goodship (INDALO) has now been replaced with this lovely study. Group judge Gwen Barber's critique as follows; "My principle winners were of impeccable quality & substance and fit for purpose. PG1 Robinson's Weimaraner, Hollieseast Sahnenkirsche presented a picture of balance, power and stamina. Level topline, smooth effortless co-ordinated movement, just loved her type, so pleased to see her finish her puppyhood with a 'Bang' R.B.P.I.S"

Lovely email from Iveta, with photo's of Sam ('H' Silver Saracen) at the 'World Dog Show' in Bratislava, and at home with Iveta and Isa, her Champion bitch. Sam has already passed (with honours), the first stage of his field and water exams, which form part of the show and working tests, that must be completed, before a Weimaraner can be passed for breeding in the Czech Rep. "Way to go Sam", we know you can do it!! When I look at this photo of Sam with his 'trophy' from the woods - I can see the family likeness to his sister Liesle. |

The Weimaraner Club of GB held a breed 'Open Show' at Horspath, Oxford, where 65 dogs competed in 31 classes. The judge was Barbara Thorne (Mabanika) and her BIS was the Veteran Bitch - Sh.Ch. Cavalmist Coco at Kalimore JW. Both our girls did well at the show - Liesle won both Junior and Graduate bitch class and Elke was 2nd in Limit bitch - from a class entry of 8. I forgot to take my camera, but did have a photo taken at the show. Whilst waiting for this to be emailed - here are the two sisters, little Liesle and big sister Elke, who we hope will be in season soon, as so many people are waiting for one of her puppies! |

Back from our 2 weeks holiday to the "World Dog Show" in Bratislava, Slovak Rep. Such good memories of our trip and many photo's to publish on site. So, I have decided to make a special page so they can be enjoyed by all. We had success with Liesle who was graded "Excellent 3" in her class of 16 Junior Bitches, so we came home with a" World show winner"! Sam (Liesle's brother), who lives in the Czech Rep. was also graded "Excellent 4 " in his class of 13 Junior males. Simona with several of the 'Sirius Nova' bred dogs, had good placings and won the puppy class also 3rd 'Best Kennel' from an entry of over 50 Kennels with dogs from all over Europe. We've now 'got the bug' and are already planning our next venture to Slovenia - for the 2010 European Dog Show. Meanwhile, here are some photo's of the competition. |

Liesle celebrated her 1st birthday and last puppy entry, in grand style - by winning her class and 'Best Puppy in breed ' then again winning the Gundog Puppy group and finally, 'Reserve Best Puppy in Show' At Hitchen & District Canine Society 'Diamond Jubilee 278 class Open Show' on Saturday - BIS judge was Ted Goodship. The next day at the Royal Norfolk Showground, she again won her class, 'Best of Breed' and went on to win the adult Gundog group. This brings her total of group wins to 6 and out of those she has won 3 x R.B.P.I.S and 2 x B.P.I.S3. Who would have dreamed this little 27 day old puppy, in the photo - would become our top winner to date!! We are off to Bratislava on Thursday - so no more news until we're home again! My son and daughter will be at our house to care for the dogs , whilst we're away. |

Today is the 1st Birthday of our Liesle and her brothers of the 'S' litter. This time last year - on just such a lovely Autumn day - Kiri gave birth to her 3rd and final litter of 8 healthy puppies. "Happy Birthday" to you all (in order of birth) Oskar, Nelson, Sam, Kasper, Sarchie, Roddey and last Liesle.
In celebrating their lives, let's also remember dear Flint - the 6th puppy born, who did not live to enjoy this Birthday with his family. The photo is just to remind you, how little they were at age 4 weeks.

A tragic day for us here at Hollieseast - this morning my wonderful, best beloved dog Molsen died. He had been diagnosed with 'Dilated Cardiomyopathy' after collapsing on Easter Sunday 2008. Since that time he was on constant medication for his heart condition. We had been warned by the specialist that Molsen could 'drop dead anytime' and the prognosis was for 6 to 18 months of life. He made it to 17 months from the time he was diagnosed. He leaves the most enormous gap in our lives and in that of our family - who all loved and appreciated this very special and unique dog. He can never be replaced. This lovely photo was taken by my son Jeremy - to him Molsen was always 'the big man' and a true gentleman. |

Another Championship Show win for our Liesle! This time at Darlington under breed specialist Anne Stone (Wipfel) who gave her 1st place in Junior Bitch - a strong class of 8, after being 2nd in Puppy Bitch. Liesle picked up more JW points and is now over half way to the gaining the award. This was her last puppy class at Championship shows, this Saturday is her Birthday and then she must compete as a Junior. We only have 2 more shows before we go on holiday to Slovakia to compete at the "World Dog Show" and "The Slovakian National Show" in Bratislava. Both Keith and I are really looking forward to our trip! First time through the tunnel with a dog and a pet passport, let alone the drive to Slovakia!

Fantastic news from Simona, is that Ch. Hollieseast Perlenkette is now a "Multi Champion". Kenzie won the CACIB on Saturday and went on to win the prestigious title "Leipzig Winner 2009". Thanks must go to Simona, who has campaigned Kenzie to her titles in the Czech Rep. (where she lives) also in Slovakia, Poland and now Germany. Kenzie's daughter - Jch.Gazella in Grey Sirius Nova, bred by Simona, won BIS at the Weimaraner Club of CZ show - out of 87 Weimaraners entered. Many Congratulations on such wonderful achievements :0) |

2 Championship shows this weekend - Saturday was the Weimaraner Club of G.B. and Sunday it was Richmond. At the club show, Liesle was placed 3rd in Puppy bitch and 2nd in Novice, so no JW points - but at Richmond, won Junior Bitch and JW points! Thanks go to Clare Worsford, for these lovely photo's taken at the club show. It was such a sunny day for mid September, everyone was feeling the heat and it was too hot for the dogs! Today the 'O' litter and our dear Molsen - celebrate their 6th Birthday. "Happy Birthday" to all 11 of you!! My wish is that you're all enjoying a happy and healthy life with your families. Here's a Birthday portrait of our super boy (portrait taken by my son Jeremy) and four of his handsome brothers. In order of birth, (from left to right) Benson, Josh, Monck(with Natasha) and Oscar. Our Molsen, is actually younger than his brothers by over 3 hours! We feel privilaged to have him in our family and he's still the most special of dogs. Any more photo's out there from the rest of the litter? Come on, what about the girls?

"Happy Birthday" to the 'P' litter, listed here in the order of birth - Kenzie, Jet, Klara (named after her mother) Ronnie and Skye - who are 4 years old today! As I don't have an up-to-date photo - here's one taken when the puppies were 2 weeks old, with their mother Klara. I only have regular news of Jet and Kenzie, so I hope the other 3 are all enjoying a wonderful life and having a special treat today :0) Thea sent this lovely birthday portrait of Jet and one of both Jet with little 'Millie', Thea's daughter. |

Here's a birthday portrait of 'Kiri' - taken in the garden today - 1 week after her 7th birthday! I said she was still beautiful and this photo proves it :0) I have to admit, she wasn't at all amused at having to sit still with a flower on her head! (Hence her ears turned inside out). To add to the charm of the occasion - her 2 lovely daughters are also included to demonstrate the fact that we breed such good looking dogs - as you can see!! |

"Happy Birthday" to Kiri - the mother of the 'Q' 'R' and 'S' litters - who is 7 years old today! At this age she is now officially a veteran in the dog show scene! Still very beautiful (although her underline has gone - due to having 3 large litters). She is still my darling girl and I pay tribute to her as the mother of our two fabulous youngsters; Elke and Liesle. This photo of her with newborn puppies from her last litter (one of them is Liesle) is a favourite of mine. |

A midweek show at Newark & Notts Showground (Sheffield & District Canine Society - 144 classes) saw our little girl again win both her classes under breed specialist Jo Hall (Akateze). Liesle then won 'Best Puppy' and went on to win yet another 'Gundog Puppy group 1' under Mrs. C. Ryan. A disapointing trip to WKC on 23rd August - result - 2nd place awarded to Liesle by a judge who gave the 'Best Puppy' award to a puppy who was obviously lame on the day. Well, you 'live and learn' all the time!! Photo taken in our garden of a sleepy Liesle. |

2 Open shows this weekend - Saturday's 200 classes at the Mid Suffolk showground - was one of the best! Liesle won her class and gained JW point. Went through to win the Gundog Puppy Group and finally 'Reserve Best Puppy in Show' all these awards under 3 separate judges who appreciated her quality. Photo's will be in the 'Our Dogs' paper. Sunday's 141 classes at Thetford Canine Society saw Liesle win her 11th Best Puppy award and go through to Gundog Puppy Group 2 . Both days were hot and sunny, but the grass rings at the Suffolk showground were far superior to the indoor rings at the Horse Welfare centre at Snetterton, Norfolk. Waiting for photo's from the Saturday show - Clacton & District Canine Society . Meanwhile - one from the garden - just for now! |

An Open Show midweek starting at 5pm - gave us the chance to take Noah to his first 'Dog Show'. I had entered both Liesle and Elke, so he could see how the dogs are exhibited and what stages occur before 'Best in Show'. Liesle won 2 classes and Elke won the 'Open class'.This meant I had both girls in the challenge for 'Best of Breed'. Elke was then handled by Paul ( from our ringcraft club) but she was not at her best with a stranger, so lost out to the 'Post Grad' winner. Liesle won 'Best Puppy' and 'Reserve Best of Breed' and in the Gundog Group went on to win 'Puppy Group 2'. I did have photo's taken at the show, but this one of Elke, Liesle and Molsen, will do for the time being. |

We have our grandson Noah staying with us for this week, during the summer school holidays. He loves to be with the dogs, play with them and go for walks - something they all enjoy!! It's also an oportunity for me to take a photo of Keith - quite relaxed, with the dogs. Keith is well known in our family as someone who absolutely hates the camera and will hide if he's given half a chance! In the photo on left; it's Klara, Liesle, Elke, Molsen and Kiri and on the right its; Elke, Klara, Liesle, Molsen and Kiri. The photo of 3 dogs is; Molsen and 2 of the girls!! |

A long drive to the south coast for the Bournemouth Championship show, where Liesle gained a 1st and 2nd in her 2 classes. No JW points, as very low entries. The 'credit crunch' is deffinately affecting dog shows. It was absolutely sweltering at the showground, with no cover in the main rings at all. I came home suffering from mild sun stroke and went to bed immediately. A good nights sleep cured it. Must remember to take my sunhat next time!! No photo's from the show - but this one of all our dogs enjoying a lazy time and sunning themselves on the decking, was taken a few days ago. Left to right - Kiri - Liesle - Elke - Klara and Molsen. |

News from Julia enclosing this lovely photo of her little daughter with her 2 'Hollieseast' dogs - Saffy (who will be 13 years old in October - from the 'J' litter - Monroes Afshan x Hollieseast Heidekirsche) and Zeus ( 11 years old in September - from the 'K' litter - Cherrycrack Blue Monk x Hollieseast Eis Kristall). So good to see and be able to cherish this link with our past breeding. The Dam of Saffy, was my beloved Kiri (snr.) and the Dam of Zeus was our dearest Ritzi, both of whom we remember as being so special. |

Another show success today for Liesle! At the 'Peterborough & District Canine Society' 223 class 'Open Show' - she won her class. There were 4 dogs entered in the class, so she gained another JW point! Best of all - she went on to take the 'Best of Breed' rosette as well as the 'Best Puppy' award!! The photo's here, were taken at the 'Royal Norfolk show' when she won the Gundog puppy group and went on to win R.B.P.I.S. The judge was Mr. Tony Allcock MBE |

Another great day for the 'Hollieseast' girls (Canine and Human!) At the 'East of England' Championship show on Saturday - Liesle won both her classes and went on to win 'Best Puppy in Breed' - for the second time at a Championship show. The judge was Dr. Ron James (Jasmorne)She also collected more JW points! Lovely big sister Elke was Second in Post Graduate bitch - thereby qualifying her for 'Cruft's' 2010. We're waiting for the official photo's to arrive - meanwhile, here's a new photo of all our dogs (Elke second from left, little Liesle, far right) in the woodland garden, at home. |

After having to miss 4 shows (in the past month) due to a barbed wire injury - our little Liesle came back to the show ring with a 'bang'! On Wednesday, at the Royal Norfolk Showground, she won 'Best Puppy in Breed' - then won 'Best Gundog Puppy' (group 1) and went on to win 'Reserve Best Puppy in Show'. A really wonderful achievement (such hot weather). She had a Wet towelling coat on, to keep her cool, in between classes. The following day at Windsor Championship Show, she won 'Best Puppy in Breed' - Judge was breed specialist Mrs. Grace Brown. All 3 puppies entered, had full tails. Photo shows Liesle competing with the puppy dog winner, for the BP title. |

Good news from Iveta - she took Sam to the Weimaraner Club of Czech Republic breed show, where he won his class and was later declared the "Best Youth in Competition". Here he is shown with his 2 trophy's - one for the class and 1 for the "Best Youth". We don't have these classes at shows here in UK, so this is a new one on me!! Well done and many congratulations to both :0)
NB. Sam's registered name is Hollieseast Silver Saracen - so he's one of the 'S' litter.

Today we had a family re-union! It's become an annual event, whereby my 2 sisters and my brother, their children and grandchildren, our cousins and special friends, like Thea and James - are invited too! This year, I wanted to host the party at my home, to celebrate my 70th birthday. After fine sunny days prior to the party, the weather was not at all kind to us on the actual day and it rained on and off all day long - so we couldn't use the garden to sit out in. Never-the-less, with plenty of good food and wine - plus a 'Kareoke' session - a really good time was had by all!! In the group photo - my daughter's on the extreme left, (next to my older sister, Pat) then me and Scarlett with her friend Poppy ( Keith peeping out behind). In the centre, my brother Alan and further to the right, my younger sister Margaret. Her son James was there with his girlfriend Beverley Knight (the singer) who put us all to shame, when it came to the 'Kareoke' session!!! I also had such lovely flowers and cards, as you can see. |

Jaki sends fantastic news about 'Roddey', who, aged just under 8 months old and handled by her youngest daughter Kaidee - passed the "Kennel Club Good Citizen Silver Award" last night at training classes. Only 2 dogs, out of the whole class, were good enough to pass this test and Roddey was the younger by 2 years!! Many, many congratulations to Kaidee for this wonderful achievement with such a young dog. Here they are in this photo (Roddey's on the left) with the award. The other Weimar is Maisie, Roddey's companion, who has to put up with all his antics - so she deserves to be in the photo too!!

No show news - but a family photo taken to celebrate a 7th Birthday! Here we are in our woodland garden - Keith, Me, my son and daughter and my granddaughter 'Scarlett' - who was 7 years old on Sunday. The dogs joined in the fun and my son Jeremy, got 'dogkissed' - just for being there. They all love it when he comes to visit and make up for lost time! |

2 shows for Liesle this weekend - on Saturday 2nd we exhibited at Mid-Herts Gundog Club - where 31 Gundog Breeds made up 119 classes. Liesle won 'Best Puppy in Breed' and in the final, went on to win 'Best Puppy in Show 3' - under breed specialist and 'Best in Show Judge', Di Arrowsmith (Fleetapple) who was very complimentary about our little girl. Sorry, again forgot to take a camera, so no 'show photo' for that day!! The following day, Sunday 3rd, we were at The Weimaraner Association Championship show, at Market Harborough, Leics. where Liesle (black lead) was placed 2nd in 'Minor puppy bitch' out of 7 puppies and this again - was a qualifier for 'Cruft's 2010. Also her big sister, Elke (lilac lead) was 3rd in 'Yearling Bitch' class :0) Photo's taken by Clare Worsford - thank you Clare! |

Iveta with Sam attended a show in Prague, where he was entered in "Youth Class" and was awarded 'Very Promising 1' - which is the highest grade/award given to puppies and young dogs, in the Czech Rep. and most of Europe. Sam has another show on May 9th, so we'll see how he gets on then!!
Iveta says "everything is great with Sam" and is "as it should be" - so I'm very pleased for her :0) I'm really looking forward to seeing him again, when Keith and I go to Bratislava for the 'World Dog Show' in October.

After seeing the first photo's of Flint at home in Klosters, Switzerland and the snow he had to get used to - Anne now sends these latest photo's of him, age 7 months, playing and enjoying the 'Spring' sunshine, along with her daughters and their friend.

Saturday was the Weimaraner Club of G.B. annual 'Spring' Open show, held in Leicestershire. Liesle won 2 out of her 3 classes and picked up J.W. points at the same time. It was a very nice venue and the weather was bright & sunny. The sunny weather stayed for Sunday, at the Norfolk & Norwich Canine Society's 'Spring' Open show at the Royal Norfolk Showground, where she was awarded 'Best Puppy in Breed' and went on to be placed 'Gundog Puppy Group 4' . Forgot to have any photo's taken on both days!! So here's the 'official photo' taken when she won B.P.I.S.3, earlier this month. We have been waiting for this to be sent from the photographer. |

| Easter 2009 - 2 items of news! |
|
Our Liesle and one of her 7 brother's - Sarchie, (who lives in Devon) attended both 'Open' and 'Championship' shows over the Easter holidays with great success. Liesle competed at the 'North of England Weimaraner Society (N.E.W.S.) In the 'minor puppy class' of 6 entries, she was placed 2nd, thereby qualifying for 'Cruft's' 2010 at her first Championship show! Photo by Charles Rayner. |
|
The following day, Easter Sunday, at 'East Anglian Gundog Society' she won 'Best Puppy in Breed'. This show was held on the playing field of a sports centre, near Ely (Cambs.) As I went into the ring, I must have found the only 'pothole' the judge missed on inspection! My knee went and I then hobbled around for the rest of the day. Luckily, my son Jeremy was there and he took over the task of running Liesle in the main ring later on. This time the top spot went to a 'Gordon Setter'. Photo by Jeremy Ruggles. |
|
| Sarchie went to Northumberland for Easter and won his first 'Best of Breed', from Graduate class, also, 'Best Puppy' and Gundog puppy group 4!! What an acheivement for a six- and- a- half months old puppy! So happy for you Georgie - looking forward to the photo :0) |

More super news about another 'S' litter puppy! This time it's Roddey, aged 6 months and 11 days, who was handled to his KC Good Citizen Bronze Award by Kaidee! This is the first time such a young puppy of my breeding, has succeeded with the 'Bronze' award, at this tender age. Congratulations to Kaidee for this fantastic achievement. I hope you both had a real celebration - you deserve it :0) |

Great news from Angie in Devon - her 12 year old daughter Georgie, has won the Junior handling class at her first show. This was at Bodmin and District Canine Society's Premier Open Show with Sarchie (an 'S' litter puppy). This qualifies Georgie for the semi-finals of the Junior Handling competition at Richmond Championship show in September 2009. This photo was taken at the Royal Cornwall Showground on the day of the show. Congratulations and well done to both handler and puppy! |
|
Georgie and Sarchie, also achieved success at training classes with the KC Good Citizen Award - Puppy foundation course - which Sarchie passed with flying colours aged 5 months of age. Sarchie is Georgie's first dog and we will be watching out for further good news, in the coming months :0) |
|
Also, our little Liesle covered herself with glory at her first show too At the Retford Canine Society annual Open Show at Newark and Notts showground - with over 600 exhibits, making over 800 entries, she won; "Best Puppy in Breed" - then went on to win; "Best Gundog Puppy in group" and finally, "the icing on the cake" - winning "Best Puppy in Show 3". Debut's don't come much better than this - we had a great day :0) Waiting now for official photo, taken on the day - meanwhile, this will have to do for time being! |

| 2 items of news today; |
|
Our dear Klara is 10 years old today! Happy Birthday to the mother of the N, O and P litters. I want to pay tribute to her, now she has reached double figures. We have been so very fortunate with our breeding bitches over the past years. They have produced some wonderful puppies and excellent examples of the breed. Klara herself has a Multi Champion daughter, J.W. winning son and daughter (in our own Molsen and Kiri) as well as a Junior champion granddaughter in Finland, to her credit. It is our philosophy at "Hollieseast" - to keep and care for whatever we breed. What we breed to keep - we keep for life. We give our 'Oldies' as much time and attention as we do our youngsters. If this means having to spend more money on them, due to failing health in old age, so be it. The |
|
thought of parting with or "getting rid of" dogs, when they are no longer profitable, is totally abhorrent to us and we despise those so-called 'caring breeder's who do just this. How can one repay the devotion one gets from a dog ? Why, the answer is simple - to make their old age as comfortable and as happy as is possible. To prove my point - Here is a recent photo showing Klara on her favourite bed in the sitting room :0)
Also, on this day, the 'S' litter puppies are 6 months old ! This is the minimum age for exhibiting at a KC licensed event. Our little Liesle will attend her first show this Sunday. Watch this page for news of our latest 'showgirl' ! |

Met Thea for lunch and took Jet and Liesle for a lovely walk. Both uncle and niece, had a super time playing together (as these photo's show). Eventually, they did settle down long enough to have a special portrait taken, by this wonderful clump of wild Daffodills - the very essence of Spring! Thank you Thea, for taking your camera and recording our dogs enjoying themselves. |

| 7/3/2009 Gundog Day at Cruft's. |
|
I remember it was a long and tiring day - up at 6am and home at 9pm. Both Kiri and Elke behaved beautifully and showed so well. Elke was entered in 'Yearling bitch', a class of 14 and was placed 4th. Kiri was entered in 'Limit bitch', a class of 24, (very tough competition) and, sadly, she wasn't placed. We shall be back at Cruft's next year with our girls. The photo's were taken by my son Jeremy, who accompanied me, whilst Keith stayed at home to look after our other dogs. Elke is shown at the judges table and on her bench and Kiri is photgraphed in the line up, after being judged. It was so nice to meet up with old and new friends on the day :-)

Happy news! 'Flint' has arrived at his new home in Switzerland. He was collected on Friday, by his new family and they drove home, via the tunnel. 'Flint' slept most of the way, cushioned between Amelie and Elodie on the back seat and only needed the toilet twice during the long journey home!! Here's a photo of him in the snow - a totally new experience for him, which he accepted without qualms! He
will need a winter coat :-) |

Today, (Saturday) I judged our breed at Newark and Notts showground. It was bitterly cold, but bright and sunny. Thea came along as my guest and took photo's of my 'Best of Breed' and 'Best Puppy' winners, also of me making notes on my class entries. I'm very happy to report, that both my winners went on to be placed in the Gundog group. My BOB ( bitch on right) went group 3 and my BP (dog on left) won the Gundog Puppy group and went on to win "Reserve Best Puppy in Show". What a great result! Congratulations to both owners with their dogs :-) |
